The Lumber Jack Challenge includes the double-bit axe throwing competition, crosscut log saw competition, and a "hot saw" event using gas-powered chain saws. The double-bit axe is thrown at a target and the most points are earned when the center of the target is hit, three throws are added for the score. The crosscut log saw involves either one-person sawing through a log -- or two people using a double-handled saw. The fastest time wins the event. The two-person categories include Jack & Jack, Jack & Jill, and Jill & Jill. All the Jacks and Jills must be 18 or older to enter the axe or crosscut saw events. The competitors in the "hot saw" event must be 18 or over and bring their own gas-powered chain saw to enter. Three slices must be cut from a log and the fastest slicer wins. The winner of the Grand Prize will be drawn from all the winners of the Lumber Jack Challenges on all three rounds of the competition -- Friendly Frontier Days, Fourth of July Celebration, and the Deltana Fair.
