Hurricane Dave - He’s a mighty musical wind. But unlike his meteorological namesakes, Hurricane Dave brings gusts of good times and leaves a satisfied audience in his path. The Anchorage-based country/folk artist sings, plays guitar and blows a mean harp. A purveyor of "Acoustic Country With A Smile," Hurricane Dave began his career as a bar musician in Washington, D.C., and has spent time in Nashville, Southern California, Las Vegas and South Florida. These days he calls Anchorage home, having relocated from Fort Lauderdale in the spring of 2008. Hurricane Dave has two albums that are commercially available: "Bar Stools & Church Pews: Songs For Friday Night & Sunday Morning," a mix of drinking songs and country-gospel ("a little something for everybody," he says) and "The Cheechako Chronicles -- Postcards, E-mails & Tweets From Alaska," all original material about a newcomer living in Alaska -- including his Sarah Palin "refudiation," "Please Don't Ask Me About Her." In addition to Delta, Hurricane Dave's 2011 summer tour of Alaska includes performances at music festivals, fairs, RV parks, coffeehouses and other venues in Anchorage, Chicken, Palmer, Talkeetna, Trapper Creek, Fairbanks, Mendeltna Creek, Soldotna, Kenai, Ninilchik and Seward, and concludes with an appearance at the Alaska State Fair. | Hot Sauce |
|
|
Hot Sauce is a blend of two spicy young pickers: Matt Faubion and Ian Wahl. These guys have been playing music together almost half their lives. While they both began their musical careers on violin, you'll find them here with Matt on guitar and Ian on mandolin. But, don't be surprised if a fiddle or even a banjo find their way into the act. Both are multi-instrumentalists. Matt & Ian are often seen in a supporting role in Sarahndipity. But, this is their chance to be front and center. The band is rounded out by Bob Fairchild (of Sourdough Biscuits) on bass. While Bob is best known as a lead vocalist, he enjoys his supporting role in Hot Sauce. "I get to keep time, sing some harmony and watch this young talent up close. They even feature me on a couple tunes!" The band was formed on short notice in 2010 when a slot opened up at the Music Between the Ranges Festival in Kenny Lake.

The Back Acres Band is a rock and blues band from the valley and Anchorage that just likes to play whenever it can. The band started as a family band three years ago with a dad and four sons and has grown with friends with multiple musical talents. The band, with 5 to 8 members depending on who’s in town, plays mostly rock and blues from the 60s and 70s. The Back Acres are very excited about playing at the Deltana Music Festival. http://www.mtaonline.net/~edwade/

Nuther Brothers
Most all of our songs have harmony which sounds downright brotherly even though our Nuther Brotherhood is more virtual than actual. Our sets will include a bunch of originals plus some country, blues and swing favorites.

| Simple Folk Uprising |
|
|
All the members of Simple Folk Uprising are from Delta Junction and are Ellie Schneider on bass, Jeff Mason--guitar, Gwen Payne on mandolin and recorder, Nancy King percussion, and Andy Payne on banjo. The vocals are shared among us. We have played together almost three years and include former teachers and farmers, and a hard working biologist, librarian, and dog kennel owner-operator-you'll have to guess which is which.
Our name comes from the fact that we started out doing old folk music that had to be sort of simple in order for us to play it. Keeping that music alive and revived while having fun was our goal. Now we do other stuff--rocky and bluegrassy--including some Jeff Mason originals and will do almost any songs that have harmony and a message. But we still really like the folk music most of us started out with.
Playing mostly fund raisers and benefits in the Delta area keeps us practicing. Our next music festivals are: Chickenstock Jun 11 &12, The Salcha Fair June 24, Music Between the Ranges (at Kenny Lake, July 23), and the highlight of the summer is the Deltana Fair Music Festival, July 29, 30, and 31st in Delta Junction--hope to see you there.

Anna Lee Company
Festivals are, for many people, the purest and most enjoyable way to experience live music, art, and community. Our music group Anna Lee Company is proud to be a part of the annual Deltana Fair - Music Festival. Anna Lee Company is a blend of original Bluegrass, Alt Country, and Gospel -- the essence of Americana music. The band members are Leighton Nunez (songwriter, guitar, mandolin), Jeff Siniscalchi (songwriter, guitar, harmonica), Marie Mitchell (bass), and Adam Owen (banjo), with Suzanne Richards joining in (fiddle, harmony). Writing and performing their own songs, reinterpreting other people's and collaborating with talented musicians has meant that their sound is always evolving while also acknowledging their Americana roots.

| Big Delta Blues |

"Big Delta Blues" was formed in the Fall of 2009 on a dare to play for the Clearwater Lodge's Halloween Party Event. Our original members were Curt Olmstead on Bass/Vocals; David Flynn on guitar, vocals, and harmonica; Ed Noble on rhythm guitar; Keith Wood on drums; and Mike Hoffman on lead guitar/vocals. Since this beginning we have traded out drummers and lead guitarists on occasion and when possible had the unique vocal stylings of Barbara Flynn join our group. Recently, Randy Pasley has joined as a lead guitarist. Chris Brady's versatility on drums and guitar allow the band to have a dynamic that helps generate our own style and sound. Our basis is in the Blues, but we play to the crowd where we can, and we enjoy mixing in rock, country, contemporary, and Top Forty selections to our sets. We always look forward to performing despite our busy schedules and hope our efforts at the Deltana Fair are well received."
